Recently I have had the opportunity to advance with my position at Memorial University of Newfoundland. While I have not officially started my new duties yet, I will be soon moving from The Commons to the Help Desk over in the main Computing and Communications offices.
This is an excellent chance to advance my skills, work in a new environment and network with members of C&C I don’t normally get a chance to work with. It will also be nice to see, and be around, the other projects that members of C&C are working on. With a new IBM server system being installed, I think it will be exciting to be over there.
It also marks a huge confidence boost from my boss who selected me and another co-worker for the move. I am a bit nervous though about the move, as I want to make sure I meet or exceed the work expected of me.
The date has not been set for the official move, but I have been told it will be soon.
